Some new apps on the Google Play Store have been affected by malware. These apps have targeted users from many countries around the world, including India. The malware found in the app is named 'Joker' and it is quite dangerous.

This malware is secretly signing up users for subscription services, which users are not even aware of. Surprisingly, these are such subscriptions in which users may have to pay for several months.

According to reports, many countries have been affected by this malware. These include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Argentina , Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.

Most of the malware-affected apps have targeted European and Asian countries in particular. These malwares require users to use SIM cards to be executed.

A total of 24 apps have been affected by malware. These apps have been downloaded almost 472,000 times. Cyber security researcher Aleksejs Kuprins has informed that Google has removed infected apps from the Play Store.

If you have downloaded any of these apps on your phone, uninstall them. Also check your bank statement whether you have been charged for any subscription.
