The company gave the statement of closing Google Plus on the home blog after the Wall Street Journal report. That said the data of 5 million users of Google + has been broken. It was also reported in the report that access to data was possible from 2015 to March 2018.

Although Google is also saying that the bug that caused the data was broken due to disturbances, it has been corrected. After this announcement, Google's parent company, Alphabet, saw a 2.6 percent fall in the stock.

A few months ago a New York Times report claimed that data of 8.7 million users of Facebook was stolen. That caused Facebook much criticism. After this, it was reported in June 2018 that data of 1.5 million users became public due to the mess in Facebook software. Facebook expressed regret about it. It was said in the statement that these disturbances had surfaced between May 18 and May 27.

Due to the bug in Facebook's privacy settings, it was also publicizing the private post of users. Regardless of why the user has not selected any of the posts in 'Private Friends', 'Special Friends' or 'Only Me' by going to Private Settings.
